George B. Scripture, III
I was
raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as my savior
at a very young
age.
The Holy Spirit got a hold of me, however, in February 2002,
at a Don Potter
conference at Bethel Church. Since that time God has done
amazing things in my life.
The
Lord has blessed me with a beautiful wife, Sarah, and my
little son Grady who
was
born November 2, 2004. I also have a teenage daughter,
Tabitha, who also loves the Lord. I began my social work
career working for Remi Vista group homes in December 1999.
From there I went to work for Tehama County Children’s
Protective Services. While at Tehama County my position’s
focus was child abuse and domestic violence. In September
2002, I transferred to Shasta County. While in the Intake
Unit at Shasta County, I worked with expectant mothers with
methamphetamine addiction and other high risk factors
surrounding their pregnancy. In August 2004, I moved to
Shasta County’s Intensive Services Unit where most of my
clients were children that required high level placements
such as group homes. I left the county and started with
Krista on August 29, 2005.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College
in 1994. My major was psychology. I also earned a single
subject teaching credential in 1996 to teach English. I
worked as a substitute teacher for several years until I
started with Tehama County as a social worker. I was
graduated from California State University Sacramento in May
2005 with a Master of Social worker. My goal is to achieve
my license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a social
worker for Krista, I look forward to bringing God’s work and
social work together to help the kids and families that are
involved with the system that doesn’t usually take spiritual
matters into consideration. I pray that God will use me to
make a difference in the lives of our families.
